CHALLENGE

Notch Therapeutics is the first startup biotech to graduate from the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM) in MaRS. They had funding in place, a green light to grow but could not find wet lab space available for lease in the market.

SOLUTION

After completing a Lab and Office Needs Analysis by an independent planner retained by the Lab Occupier team, the tenant’s requirement was determined to be approximately 10,000sf of usable space. Because of its work in the Toronto life sciences community a potential opportunity was uncovered by the Lab Occupier team and a long-term lease was eventually negotiated.

RESULTS

Because of their connections in the Life Sciences sector the Lab Occupier team was aware of an ‘off market’ opportunity and the tenant located their new office and wet lab space at their preferred location.
